There are many people all around us who are desperate to be part of a loving and caring community that accepts them for who they are. Be a role model just by being yourself and don't be afraid to let the universe shine through you.

This podcast is for people who feel out of place in life and are tired of trying to conform to other people’s expectations. I interview extraordinary people who have found their inner spirit and live life as their own unique selves. In our modern fast paced world, we can easily feel isolated from our inner spirit. So to help us reconnect, we will dive deep and explore the most basic qualities of being human that connect each of us to the timeless. Hopefully our journey together will help you discover your own “way of being” that just feels comfortable and right… and is uniquely yours.

I want people to know me as a person. When I meet somebody for the first time, I ask about their hobbies and interests, not what they do for a job. Though, it's always cool when there is overlap there. For me, I love to travel and meet people whose lives are different than my own. I spent six months in Madagascar living in a small village called Ranomafana. I recently went to the Kumbh Mela, a huge festival in India, with my oldest son.I love listening to Grateful Dead music and trying to listen for a random chord or rhythm from a band member who is making an offer to the rest of the band to see if they want to explore a new twist in the music. Or maybe it's the first step toward transitioning into a new song.I play disc golf, the piano and occasionally I pick up my guitar. I enjoy woodworking and architecture that is intentional with its smallest details.Nature is my favorite teacher. I love canoeing in the Boundary Waters, backpacking in the Mountains or finding the perfect body surfing waves. Give me a secluded tropical beach with shady palm trees, that's my favorite kind of place.I love Sean Baker movies, especially Florida Project. I also loved the movies Never Cry Wolf and The Last Emperor. I enjoy movies where the beloved protagonist loses in the end (Indian dramas are great at this). I tend to binge Love at First Sight (the one where marriage counselors work with the new couples). It's all about being honest with who you are as an individual and having the courage to openly communicate that.I don't enjoy reading a whole lot, but did enjoy Catcher in the Rye (J.D. Salinger) On the Road (Jack Kerouac), Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (Tom Robbins), Monkey Wrench Gang (Edward Abbey), and the Bhagavad Gita.Whenever I notice that I have a fear of doing something, and I can't explain why, I often use that as a reason to just try it. I don't like feeling that my hang-ups are somehow controlling me. I'm talking about personal fears which are usually based on some social thing I was taught in middle school. So, I tried being a figure drawing model and being on stage with a comedy team. I'm in the process of learning not to care so much what other people think. It's a work in progress that has gradually made my life seem more liberating and less constrained. My oldest brother died in an avalanche my first year in college. That opened my eyes to a divine energy that is part of us that can radiate love. Years later as public defender, seeing the inner workings of a broken justice system, and traveling to Haiti and seeing abysmal suffering, I developed depression and anxiety. As part of my recovery, several people helped me discover new ways of seeing the world; notably Ram Dass, Gangaji and Mooji. Other aspects of my recovery were: better diet, sleep and spending time helping lead wilderness expeditions.I don't like to define myself because I want to allow life or God to show me the way to live everyday. I sometimes feel a loving insight showing me options I might have otherwise missed if I were stuck applying an old meaning to the present moment. Because of that I decided to stop identifying myself in every way I could; including my gender. I seek to identify as a universal spirit and less as my physical body. And that has opened up my life in ways that are meaningful to me. Labels never paint the true full picture. There's often hidden social baggage that comes with labels. They simply don't serve me spiritually. Does it bring me closer or farther from feeling divine love, that has become my compass in life.I love chocolate chip cookies, I feel I can manage them in moderation. But I know I am helpless against apps like Tik Tok, so I deleted it from my phone. Even though I post videos there, you are here now. I encourage you to do the same. Just delete it for one week if that's all you can commit to.I love learning. I guess that's why I love talking to new people on this podcast. But I can easily get distracted by new ideas, so I needed help from other people to stay focused on creating this podcast and my goal of connecting with other people.I can't tell you absolute true facts about how to meditate, how to think, or what your life should be like. I can only tell you my story and share the stories of people I find interesting.
And I hope this can help you discover and be your true unique self. You never need permission to be yourself.

This page is a work in progress. I'm planning to create place where I will offer ways for you to work with me one-on-one. For now, feel free to reach out and ask me questions at my gmail address listed below.
